Care
Looking after your pieces
Hand-finished weaves reward a little patience. Five minutes of care buys years of wear.
Chanderi & silk blends
- Dry clean for the first wash, then gentle hand wash in cold water if you prefer.
- Never wring. Roll in a cotton towel to draw out water.
- Dry flat in shade — direct sun dulls the sheen.
- Iron on low with a cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric.
Muslin, cotton & handloom
- Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild liquid detergent for the first 2–3 washes.
- Expect slight shrinkage and colour settling on handloom — it's the nature of the weave.
- Machine wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag after that.
Embroidery, zari & sequins
- Always dry clean. Turn inside out before ironing and avoid the worked areas entirely.
- Store zari pieces wrapped in muslin, never in plastic — it traps moisture and tarnishes metal.
Storage
Fold heavier suit sets rather than hanging them, so shoulders don't stretch. Keep a sachet of dried neem or lavender in the stack, and air festive pieces once a season.
